Elbert Derrick Gatch, age 78, passed away at Memorial Medical Center on January 25th, after a short illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Catherine Gatch, brother David Gatch, sons John D. Gatch and Ryan S. Gatch.
Those left to cherish Derrick’s memory are his daughters Tammy E. Gatch and Allyson D. Tuck, grandchildren Derrick B. Gatch, Meg E. Brown, Christopher B. Tuck and Brooklynn N. Gatch, brother Charles D. Gatch (Janice), and many nieces and nephews.
Derrick retired from Ceres Shipping Company in 2008. Prior to that, he was co-owner of John Wolf Florist. Derrick was an expert designer. He enjoyed sharing and teaching his knowledge of plants and flowers. If you were a friend of his you never knew when you would receive a surprise floral arrangement. He enjoyed many days at LaVida Golf Club. Derrick will be missed by many.
A private family ceremony will be held.
