A Private Service will be held for Elder Wilmer Daniel Paul.

Elder Wilmer D. Paul, a native of Patterson, LA, transitioned peacefully to his eternal home on October 10, 2025 at the age of 78. He was a resident of Lafayette, Louisiana.

Elder Wilmer Paul was born to Bethel Paul (father) and Berneice Triggs Paul (mother) in the town of Patterson, Louisiana on November 13, 1946. However, he was raised by his grandparents, Hilda and Wilbur Triggs. On February 16, 1964, he married his wife, Betty Joyce Jennings Paul on Luckland Farm in Patterson, LA. Through this union, seven children were born: Sheila Paul, Daniel Paul, Dwain Paul, Timothy Paul, Carmichael Paul, Damon Paul, and Tara Paul.

To this day, he is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Paul; his three sons - Daniel Paul of Baton Rouge, LA; Carmichael (Chasity) Paul of Patterson, LA; and Damon (Jasmine) Paul of Prairieville, LA; and two daughters - Sheila Paul of Lafayette, LA, and Tara (Derrick) Mickens of Houma, LA. He was a beloved and proud grandfather of ten grandchildren - Quinton, Jarell, Jalon (Ashley), Samarick, Tiara, Tyler, Kierah, Kyler, Darrion, Treylon, and godfather to one god child - Cynthia Bennett. Other extended family members include his Sisters-in-Law: Audrey (Joseph) Drayton, Carol (Larry) Jones, and Martha (Otis) Welch, as well as many wonderful cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his dedication and love for his family, he love preaching and ministering to others. At the age of 24, he accepted Christ as his Savior. He chose to serve the Lord in the way of Holiness until he entered the gates of Heaven. He leaves behind a legacy of unwavering knowledge and wisdom about his religious faith and love for his family.

In his home going, he was preceded in death by his two sons, Dwain Paul and Timothy Paul; his father, Bethel Paul; his mother, Bernice Triggs Paul; maternal and paternal grandparents, Wilbur Triggs and Hilda Triggs; and his sister, Brenda Dugas Paul.

The Paul Family would like to take this opportunity to thank the doctors and medical staff who cared and assisted our father with transitioning to his eternal home at the following facilities:

Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center, Ochsner University Hospital, St. Joseph Hospice, and The Carpenter House.
