Elder Rice Obituary
Elder Lee "Elly" Rice, age 83, of Gulfport, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her father, Sherrell Simon Clark; and her mother, Avis Lee Bardwell Clark.
Elly is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Chester Lee Rice; daughters, Avis Lee Rice Breland (Gary), Rebecca Lucille Rice Smith (Homer), and Barbara Annette Rice Richardson (Patrick); sisters, Elsie Marie Corley and Helen Lucille Devilon (Dennis); grandchildren, Jeremy Michael Breland, Brandon Chad Breland, Christyn Dealeen Olaivar, Jamin Mason Davidson, Aubrie Michelle Lane, Christopher Chase Richardson, Joshua Christian Richardson, and Austin Ryan Richardson; 28 great grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren.
She always had great joy in serving others through cooking and feeding them and visiting nursing homes. Elly also enjoyed sharing her love for Jesus and the good news of Christ Jesus by witnessing, loving and helping others. She was a servant at heart. Elly attended New Life Family Joy in Biloxi and donated to several charities.
Elly is loved and was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be 10:00 am - 11:00 am, Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will be at a family cemetery, 23505 Hillview Road, Saucier, MS 39574.
