Eldon Allan Akerley III

Eldon Allan Akerley, III, a cherished member of the Parkville community and a dedicated servant to the nation, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on November 16, 1947, in Hanover, Pennsylvania, Eldon's early years were marked by a strong sense of duty and a warm, engaging personality that would become his hallmark throughout his life.

Eldon's commitment to service was evident from a young age. After completing his education, he answered the call of duty by enlisting in the United States Army. His time in the military saw him stationed in Germany, where he not only served his country with distinction but also gained experiences that would shape his worldview and enrich his character.

Upon returning to civilian life, Eldon embarked on a career that would become his life's work. For over 50 years, he was a familiar and friendly face within the United States Postal Service, serving as a mailman who took pride in connecting people through the letters and packages he delivered. His dedication to his role was unwavering, and he was known for his punctuality, reliability, and the genuine care he showed to each resident on his route.
