Eldon M. Knight

Eldon Knight, 82, of Oil City, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Clare, Michigan. He was born January 2, 1943, in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, the son of Oscar McBride and Flossie Salters. He married Leona V. Lootens in Oil City on August 21, 1962. He was employed by Beard Oil and retired from D'Velco Manufacturing of Phoenix, AZ. He enjoyed racing cars at Mt. Pleasant Speedway, fishing, and tinkering in his garage. Eldon is survived by his wife of 62 years, Leona; four children, Debbie McReavy of Winter Haven, FL, Diana (Stephen) Bell of Winter Haven, FL, Eldon C. Knight of Winter Haven, FL, and John Eldon (Kathy) Knight of Oil City; 15 grandchildren, Dawn Spring, Amanda Sian, and Ashley Gainers, Heather Webre, Stephanie Bell, and Crystal Bell, April Vogel and Mercedes Knight, Johnathan Knight, Kayla Gambrell and Nicky Morgan, and Aislinn, Keegan, Iden, and Locklon; 14 great-grandchildren, Cora, Zahavah, Landen, Michael, Zachary, Ian, Desmond, Rosaline, Markus, Haley, Lillian, Jayce, Samantha, and Killian; two siblings, Richard (Carolyn) Groeneveld of Mt. Pleasant and Deborah (Donald) Liscomb of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Amy, Kim Tabitha, Hollie, Maria, Jasmine, and Loki. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Terry Groeneveld and Dan Groeneveld. Eldon's funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 14, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. A luncheon will follow the service in Lincoln Reception Center (attached to the funeral home).
