Eldon R. Rocke
November 22, 1934 - October 13, 2025
Eldon R. Rocke, 90, of Eureka, IL passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria after a brief illness.
He was born on November 22, 1934, in Eureka, IL to Joseph and Nettie Schrock Rocke. He married Ida Mae Steffen on March 1, 1959, in Congerville, IL. She passed away on June 10, 2017.
Surviving are his four daughters, Laurie (Kevin) Greer; Dianne (Jim) Wettstein; Kathy (Norm) Knapp; Gail (Steve) McCane; one brother, Norman Rocke; 13 grandchildren, Justin (Caitlin) Dillard; Matt (Alyssa) Dillard; Joshua (Carly) Wettstein; Jeni (Jesse) Ursu; Katie (Jakob) Ursu; Kendra Wettstein; Jeremy (Amber) Wettstein; Kelsey Wettstein; Kirk Knapp; Kendall (Carla) Knapp; Connor (Abi) Knapp; Caitlin and Amanda McCane; 15 great grandchildren, Natalya, Luke, Micah Dillard; Kyler, Dawson, Coleton, Oakley Wettstein; Levi, Laura, Evan Ursu; Marie Ursu; Jared Wettstein; Blair, Skye, and April Knapp.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Richard Rocke, and two sisters, Mildred Schlipf and Arlene Huette.
Eldon was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Most importantly, he was a loving servant of Christ. His kind and humble spirit was seen through his love for others. He loved to visit with others and never knew a stranger. He loved spending time with family and faithfully prayed daily for each child, grandchild, and great grandchild by name.
He was a member of the Eureka Apostolic Christian Church where he had served many years as a Sunday School teacher and church trustee.
Eldon farmed in the Eureka area all his life. He was a member of the Woodford County Farm Bureau. An Army Veteran, Eldon served his country working as a dental assistant.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 18th at the Apostolic Christian Church in Eureka. Church ministers officiated. Visitation was held Friday evening at Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke and on Saturday prior to the services at the church. Burial was in the Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Roanoke.
