Eldon Smith Obituary
Born on October 10, 1948, in Carlisle, Kentucky, Eldon lived a life shaped by the relationships he built and the people he loved. He will be remembered for his character, his humor, and the impact he had on those around him.
Eldon was a faithful servant of Jehovah for most of his life and devoted much of his time to preaching and sharing the good news with others. He also had the privilege of baptizing many fellow Jehovah's Witnesses and helped build numerous Kingdom Halls that continue to be used today, leaving a lasting legacy of faith and service. His faith guided his actions and the way he treated those he met.
He found great joy in fishing, gardening, and spending time outdoors, and above all, Eldon was a family man who loved spending as much time as he could with his family, cherishing every moment with them.
Eldon is survived by his children: Jonathan Smith, Melea Peloquin, Amariah Leasor (Jonathan), and Jeshua Smith; his grandchildren: Austin Smith (Alexandria), Jacob Smith (Jaqueline), Ruth Leasor, Laurann Smith, Miriam Hildebrandt (Hayden), Yvette Peloquin, Lydia Leasor, Tyson Smith, Joshua Bosken, Emma Peloquin, and Daniella Peloquin; and his great-granddaughter, Amelia Smith. He is also survived by his siblings: Nancy Leonard, Janice Walker, and Kathy Thorpe.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda Smith; his son, James Smith; his daughter, Tema Smith - Bosken; his grandson, Noah Bosken; his parents, Lloyd Smith and Josephine Jones Smith; and his siblings, Rose Booth, Betty Hollar, Edna Smith, Lida Abbott, Anna Sorrell, Samuel Smith, Annis Crask, and Eula Hurst.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, December 26, 2025 from 5-7pm. at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing. A funeral service will follow Saturday at 1pm at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's witnesses, 400 Kingston Road, Lexington, KY 40505
Eldon's memory, faith, and love for his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

My family and the Smith family were in the same congregation on North Broadway. I have fond memories of Eldon, Brenda and their children. Eldon had a ready smile and a joyful personality. He always had a joke to tell to us kids. He will sleep for a little while until our Great God Jehovah wakes him. Our sincere condolences! Love, Casey and Felicia

I remember Eldon as a youth growing up in the truth, he always had time for the youth and was one of my mentors in the faith. May Jehovah remember him in the paradise earth.
