Eldon Walden Obituary
Eldon E. Walden, 90, of Girard, IL., passed away at his home on Saturday, December 14, 2024.
Eldon was born January 31, 1934, in Girard, IL, a son of Carl and Alma Hamilton Walden. He married Dorothy Taylor on October 14, 1961, at the Divernon Methodist Church.
Eldon worked as a building supervisor for the University of Illinois, Springfield. He was also a farmer and enjoyed hunting, sports, and watching his Chicago Bears play football. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching their sporting events. He took great care of his lawn, often to the dismay of his children. He was everyone's favorite uncle and grandpa. His bear hugs will be greatly missed by many.
Eldon was preceded in death by his parents; Carl and Alma Walden, wife; Dorothy Walden, daughter; Sandy Sauder, stepson; John Neylon, sister; Ina Traylor, brothers; Donald, Stanley, and Sterling Walden.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, 10:00 am - 12:30 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard, IL.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:30 pm, Friday, December 20, 2024, at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard, IL.
Burial will follow in Girard Cemetery, Girard, IL.
Eldon is survived by his son, Mark E. (Katie) Walden of Girard, IL, and daughters; Pat (Mike) Mussatto of Chapin, IL, Nancy Slightom of Divernon, IL, Vickie (Mark) Norris of Farmersville, IL, eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Girard Fire and Rescue.
Davis-Anderson Funeral Homes, Ltd., Girard is in charge of arrangements.
