James "Jim" Glenn Walden, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. Jim was a graduate of Red Bank High School, was a United States Air Force Veteran and a lifelong fan of the TN Vols and the Atlanta Braves. Jim worked in the grocery business for over 53 years. He loved cross country travelling with his wife, especially exploring nature and visiting national parks. He proudly attended Middle Valley Church of Christ.

Jim is preceded in death by parents Glenn and Rosa Acuff Walden, brother, Orville Walden and sister, Millie Faye Walden.

Jim is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda Payne Walden, daughter, Kim Burris, granddaughter, Zoe Burris, brother-in-law, Jack Payne, as well as many extended family members and many friends who were like family.

The family would like to thank Dr. Arrowsmith and his staff at Tennessee Oncology for their loving care.

They would also like to thank Jen and Tiffany from Hearth Hospice and the love and support from the Middle Valley Church of Christ family.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 5:00 till 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 26, 2026 at the funeral home. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 with Charlie Clements officiating. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
