Eldora S. Yoder

Funeral services for Eldora S. Yoder will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at 9:30 AM at the Tobias Yoder residence, 5795 James Ave, SW, Kalona, IA. Visitation will begin Monday, February 27, 2023, at 3:00 PM at the Tobias Yoder residence. Visitation will continue Tuesday, February 28, from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM. Burial will be in the Peter Miller Cemetery in rural Kalona. The Beatty Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Eldora S. (Mast) Yoder was born November 3, 1930, in Johnson County, IA, the daughter of Sam D. and Katie (Gingerich) Mast. She was baptized in the Old Order Amish Church in her youth and remained a faithful member until her death. She was united in marriage o Chriss R. Yoder on October 25, 1951, in Kalona, IA. They lived in matrimony 67 years. Eldora died unexpectedly at her home from complications of dementia.
She is survived by six children: Cephas C. Yoder and Verna and husband Perry Bender of Kalona, Edna and husband Perry T. Miller of Windsor, MO, Wesley and wife Verlene Yoder of Brighton, IA, Samuel and wife Norma Yoder and Louise and husband Tobias Yoder of Kalona. Daughter-in-law Mrs. Bertha Yoder of Kalona. 56 grandchildren, 197 great-grandchildren. Four brothers: Alvin (Dorothy) Mast of Salisbury, MD, Lloyd Mast, Fred (Mary Pearl) Mast and Mahlon (Ruthanna) Mast all of Kalona. Seven sisters: Mrs. Lizzie Yoder and Dorothy Mast of Kalona, Magdalena (David) Bender of Aylmer, Ontario, Canada, Clara (Elmer T.) Miller, Freda (Monroe C.) Miller, Esther Mast and Edna (Henry T.) Miller all of Kalona.
Preceding Eldora in death were her parents, her husband Chriss on December 28, 2018, son Mahlon Yoder, daughter-in-law Emma Yoder, three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three sisters: Alta, Verna and one stillborn, one sister-in-law Vesta and one brother-in-law Melvin.
