Not sure what to say?

My mom (Angie Rucci) and I are heartbroken. Ellie was a good friend. They had some fun times together! I just can't believe she's gone! Ellie used to kid my mom about the possibility of being related. My grandmother's maiden name was Giantonio. Our sincere sympathy!!

Obituary

Eleanor's Obituary

Eleanor “Ellie” Giantonio Bartlett, 84, of Wethersfield passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025.  She was the beloved wife of the late Ronald N Bartlett.  Eleanor was born in New Britain on April 2, 1941, daughter of the late Guido A. Giantonio, Sr. and Lena (Palumbo) Giantonio.

Ellie graduated from New Britain High School in 1959 and worked in the grocery business for most of her career, the majority of those were as a bookkeeper for her brother, Guido’s supermarket.  She then spent 18 years with Citizen’s Bank until she retired to be able to take on her best job, watching her grandchildren.  She volunteered at their preschool and elementary school and watched them at the local pool club where she was everyone’s grandmother. She enjoyed taking them to countless ice-skating lessons, soccer practices and gymnastics.  She loved nothing more than attending every one of their events.

Ellie was a member of the Ladies Aid at Third Congregational Church. She spent several years as part of the Fell Starr Players performing in yearly plays and enjoyed weekly ceramics for many years.  She was an avid reader, loved knitting, and playing games.  Ellie will always be remembered for her sense of style and smile.

She is survived by her daughter Christine Gerardi, her husband Damian and their daughters Gabrielle and Grace of Wethersfield, CT, and her stepchildren Sherrill Sherman and her husband Allen of Coventry, David Bartlett of Sanford, ME, and William M. Bartlett and his wife Smadar of Conway, SC;  step grandchildren Ronald Bartlett, Norman Potter, Kimberly Potter, Nelson Bartlett, Jarred Bartlett, Jamie Tinker, James Pandalfo, D.J. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Guido A Giantonio Jr. and William A. Giantonio, her stepson Ronald K. Bartlett and stepdaughter Elaine Bousquet.
