Eleanor (Washburn) Cobleigh, 95, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2024.
Born September 20, 1928, in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Luther & Margaret Washburn.
A graduate of Bay Path Institute in Longmeadow, her career as an executive secretary spanned the Springfield Hospital and Monarch Life Insurance Agency, both of Springfield.
Eleanor was a resident of Agawam for the past 63 years and a longtime member of Old First Church in Springfield serving on many boards and committees.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, George L. Cobleigh, Jr. on January 12, 2018, after 65 years of marriage, and son-in-law, Gary Fields.
Eleanor leaves her daughter, Nancy Fields, son, Bruce Cobleigh, grandchildren, Sean Fields, Eric Fields & partner Amanda McFedries, Laurel Cobleigh, great-grandson, Boris Wlazniak, siblings, John Washburn, Joan Cole, Merri Jean Stalls, Frederick Guhse, Bob & Don Patterson, Dorothy Taillon, Nancy Carson, and an extended family including nephews, Scott & Mark Sessions & families.
A private burial was held at Hillcrest Park Cemetery in Springfield.
