Eleanor Mae Eichelkraut, 98, of Ottawa, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2025 at the Pavilion of Ottawa with her family by her side.


Following Eleanor's wishes, no funeral services will be held. Interment will be in Oakwood Memorial Park at a later date. Cremation rites have been entrusted to Ottawa Funeral Home.


Eleanor was born July 22, 1927, in Ottawa, IL to Emil and Mary (Mickels) Lebeau. She worked for Radium Dial for many years until the plant moved locations. She then worked as a waitress at Eichelkraut's Restaurant, Casa Mia, Hanks, Carsons, and the Elks. She enjoyed playing bingo regulary with her friends. More than anything, she loved her family. She enjoyed seeing them daily and always made it a point to sing to them on their birthdays.


She is survived by her children, Wayne (Janice) Eichelkraut, Tami Alsvig, and Sheri Nelson; her grandchildren, Erin Eichelkraut, Faith (Jake) Alsvig, Brennan Alsvig, Laurie (Alex) Hastings, Kyle (Alicia) Nelson, and Emily Nelson; her great grandchildren, Brenton, Eliana, Loriana, Jace, Amelia, Gracie, Myles and Dawson; as well as her siblings, Donald "Pudgy" Lebeau and Sharon Swango.


She is preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Mary, her daughter, Laurie Ann Strole; and her siblings, Belmyre Lebeau, John "Jack" Lebeau, Ronald Lebeau, Richard "Duke" Lebeau, Samuel Lebeau, James Lebeau, Mike Lebeau, Connie Boaz, Jean Gettler, Darlene Rosencrans, and Patricia Allen.


Memorial contributions in Eleanor's memory may be directed to the family.
