Many wonderful memories working with Eleanor at WQED. Not to mention, Eleanor's beloved Jack and I worked together on the Bench Bar anniversary video.
We had many mutual friends and Eleanor had legendary status here in Pittsburgh. It was a privilege to have worked with her and known her. Sympathies to all family and friends.

My sympathies on this loss for the Pittsburgh community. Eleanor created a path for so many women in broadcasting and the professional workplace. She was smart, hard working, fun loving and absolutely beautiful inside and out. Her faithfulness to her friends and family was surpassed by none. You will be missed dear friend

What an amazing woman she was! I remember watching her on TV as a child growing up in the Pittsburgh area. It was a great joy and wonderful blessing to get to know her more personally a few years back after meeting her and sharing a table at an event at the Carnegie Science Center. She was as personable and engaging as I would have imagined from her public persona. I treasure the copy of her autobiography that she so generously inscribed and sent us. Be assured of my prayers for her and her family.

Remembering Eleanor will not be difficulty nor sad... she was a powerful energy I will always treasure. As one of her former producers - actually the last producer she had at WQED for LifeQuest - I cherish the time I had with her. Eleanor taught me how to be persistent, powerful and positive all while being classy! The times I doubted or questioned my position, she stood by me and stood her ground to defend our show. Eleanor was an inspiration and a friend. I will always treasure our professional and personal connection. And, while I wish I could be there in person to share my stories with the family, I have an immune-compromised husband I need to consider and keep safe. Please share my sympathies and gratitude with Eleanor's family. God Bless...
