Eleanor R. Jordan, affectionately known by all as "Bunny," left this world on November 11, 2025, at the age of 91, in the same town where she first entered it, Darby, Pennsylvania. Born on February 9, 1934, Bunny's effervescent spirit and unwavering kindness touched the lives of everyone she met.
Bunny, a true matriarch, leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. She was the loving mother of Tom Jordan, Mary (Dwight) Weaver, Matt (Lynette) Jordan, Marty Jordan, Anne (Dan) Staiber, and the late Stephen Jordan. Bunny's joy was multiplied as she became a grandmother to twelve grandchildren and a great-grandmother to eleven great-grandchildren. Each child and grandchild was a precious gem in her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them as well as her beloved nieces and nephews.
A proud graduate of her Notre Dame High School, Bunny valued education and instilled the love of learning in her children. While raising her six children within the St. Louis parish community in Yeadon, she formed lasting friendships and became a pillar of support and kindness in the neighborhood.
Bunny's commitment to helping others was evident through her incredible record of being a dedicated blood donor for over 50 years. Her selfless contributions reflected the depth of her generosity and her desire to make a tangible difference in the lives of others.
Her Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and providing comfort and strength through all of life's trials and triumphs. Bunny lived her faith through acts of service and by embodying the love and grace she believed were at the heart of her beliefs.
An avid Philadelphia Phillies fan, Bunny's enthusiasm for her team was infectious. She relished the camaraderie and excitement of the game, sharing this passion with friends and family alike. Her interests also took her on memorable girls' weekend trips to the Jersey Shore, where laughter and stories were shared under the sun. Bunny also found joy in swimming at the YMCA and in the company of the Yeadon moms during their regular lunches, where her sense of humor was always a highlight.
Perhaps what Bunny enjoyed most were the family gatherings with her children. These occasions were the embodiment of her love and dedication to her family, a testament to the beautiful life she built and the bonds she nurtured.
Bunny's life was marked by her incredible fortitude and care for her son over more than three decades, reflecting her amazing strength and resiliency. Her compassionate heart was not only evident in her care for her family but also in her kind words for everyone she encountered.
Those who knew Bunny would describe her as generous, funny, and kind. Her quick wit and sense of humor brought smiles and laughter to any situation. Bunny was truly a beautiful person both inside and out, and her presence enriched the lives of those around her.
