Eleanor C. Kohmetscher, age 91, formerly of Litchfield, died Monday, December 26, 2005 at the Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.  Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 29, 2005 at the St. Philip's Catholic Church in Litchfield with Father Paul Schumacher officiating.  Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home and will continue one hour before the service at church on Thursday.  Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Eleanor Catherine Kohmetscher was born on February 2, 1914, the daughter of Charles and Hattie  Paskey Young in Windom, Minnesota.  Eleanor lived in the Litchfield area for the majority of her life.  On September 19, 1933 she was united in marriage to Paul Kohmetscher at St. Anthony's church in Watkins, MN.   Together they lived south of Grove City on Long Lake, where they farmed.  After retiring they moved to Litchfield where they cared for and lived in the Rosemary Home.  Eleanor worked at Litchfield Laundry for many years.  She moved to Gloria Dei for two years and later moved to Glen Oaks in New London.

Eleanor enjoyed being an active member of St. Philip's Catholic Church, the church Guild, and the Daughter's of Isabella.  She also enjoyed playing cards, going to the senior citizens center, senior dining, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.

Eleanor is survived by her daughter Marlene and Donovan Tharaldson of New London; grandchildren Michelle Adam Puyear, Michael fiancee Bridget Hegeman Wheeler; great grandchildren Jory and Gage Puyear; sisters-in-law Laura Young of Litchfield and Theresa Young of South Haven.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Paul; son Paul Jr; sisters Lucille Kramer and Sally Hess; brothers Leo Young, Floyd Yound, Harold Young, Clair Young, Louis Young and son-in-law William Wheeler.
