Eleanor "Tinkey" Gaffney O'Neill, 94
December 14, 1930 – October 17, 2025

Eleanor "Tinkey" Gaffney O'Neill passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, in Indiantic, Florida, at the age of 94. Born in Wayne, Pennsylvania, on December 14, 1930, Tinkey's life was marked by grace, determination, and a deep love for her family and community.

At the age of 18, she moved to New York City to pursue her dream of dance and became a Radio City Rockette, a testament to her talent and spirited ambition. Later, she devoted herself to raising five children while continuing her education, earning a master's degree in social work. Her compassionate heart led her to a fulfilling career working with disabled adults in Miami, where she made a lasting impact on many lives.

A devout Catholic, Tinkey was active in her parish and nourished her faith through service and community. She had a lifelong love of the arts-especially opera, classical music, and ballet-which brought her joy and inspiration throughout her years.

Tinkey was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William O'Neill, daughter Eleanor, and son Robert. She is survived by her children Dr. Susan Davis, Laura Swindell, and Matthew Gaffney; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed by her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love.

A memorial Mass will be held at a later date in celebration of her remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to William Childs Hospice House, or to a charity supporting the arts or individuals with disabilities-causes that were close to Tinkey's heart.
