Mrs. Eleanor Peters, 86, formerly of 50 the Lynnway, died Monday in a local nursing home after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Arthur Peters, who passed away in July of 2001 after celebrating 60 years of marriage.

Born in Lynn, daughter of the late Thomas & Cleophis (LeBlanc) Deveau, she was a graduate of Lynn English High School and resided in Lynn for most of her life.

She was employed for the Town of Swampscott School Department as a Cook in the High School for 15 years until her retirement.

She enjoyed ice skating and later roller skating. She & her late husband roller skated well into their 80's. She was also an avid bingo player.

She leaves 1 daughter Suzanne Hollow & her husband William of Lynn, 2 sons Thomas Peters & his wife Renata of Michigan, & Michael Peters of Lynn, 4 sisters Blanche Keefe of New Hampshire, Rosalie Kurpiel, Theresa Gately, & Rosemary Quinn all of Lynn, 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was sister of the late Alice Forand & Leah Emery.

Funeral from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple St., Lynn Friday at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Pius V Church at 10:30 AM. Interment in Swampscott Cemetery at a later date.
