Eleanor “Jeanette” Kline Plummer, age 89, of Syracuse, Indiana, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 3:45 pm at Grace Village Retirement Community Health Care. By her side was her husband of 70 years Jim Plummer, Sr.
Jeanette was born on December 30, 1935, in LaGrange, Indiana, to Isaac Logan and Mildred Marie Bixler Kline. She was the youngest of the five “Kline girls”. While growing up, she and her sisters traveled northeastern Indiana while her parents served as a traveling gospel music ministry. She gave her heart to Jesus as a young child while attending North Webster Church of God.
Jeanette graduated from Milford High School in 1954. In December of that year, she married James Edwin Plummer and began their lives together, traveling the globe for 20 years with the U.S. Air Force. Jeanette and Jim’s union produced three children – Debra (Dan) Bollenbacher, born in Biloxi, Mississippi; Douglas (Danette) Plummer, born in Chateauroux, France; and Jim (Angie) Plummer, Jr., born in Tokyo, Japan; as well as 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren
In 1974, after Jim retired from the Air Force, they returned to make their permanent home in Syracuse, Indiana. For many years she was a member of First Baptist Church of Elkhart, Indiana, and co-owner of The Image Group, Inc. (commercial printer) in Syracuse. Other than the Lord, her greatest joy came from her family, grandchildren, dogs, and talking about her Heavenly home.
Jeanette is survived by her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters.
Care of Jeanette is entrusted to Titus Funeral Home & Cremation Services - 1001 S. Huntington Street, Syracuse. Friends may gather on Friday, March 14, 2025 in the funeral home, beginning at 12:30; A Life Celebration® funeral will follow at 1:30 p.m. Final interment will be at Syracuse Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s’s Children’s Hospital, Alzheimer’s Society or the American Heart Association with envelopes available at the funeral home. Written condolences may be left on Jeanette’s obituary page via www.TitusFuneralHome.com
