Eleanor Trimm Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thomas B. Dobies Funeral Home & Crematory - Holiday on Jul. 8, 2025.
On July 7, 2025, Ellie passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by love as her grandson Bobby sat beside her, sharing memories and reminding her of how cherished she was.
Ellie was born on January 22, 1930, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. After graduating high school, she moved to California for a time before eventually returning to New England, where she married the late Philip A. Trimm (1929-2000). There she raised her three children while living in Pittsfield.
Throughout her life, Ellie worked as an assistant teacher and a store clerk, bringing warmth and humor to everything she did.
Since 2018, she had been a resident at Trinity Regional Rehab Center Since 2018, where the devoted staff quickly became part of her extended family.
Ellie is lovingly remembered by her two closest friends, Janet Anderson and Angie Candelora-her "besties". The three were inseparable and fondly known to all as the "Golden Girls".
Known affectionately as Nonnie, Ellie wore her heart on her sleeve. Her expressions said it all-especially the perfected art of the eye roll. But when she smiled or laughed, the whole room lit up. Generous to the core, she was proud to always have a drawer full of snacks and candy to share with the staff, fellow residents, and especially her great- granddaughters Kylie and Briannna. She never met a candy bar she didn't like. Ellie was a devoted BINGO player at Trinity, fiercely loyal to her favorite table –the one unofficially reserved for the Golden Girls. She was also an avid reader, particularly fond of Amish Romance novels, though she'd occasionally enjoy a good Danielle Steele or Nora Roberts book as well. Game nights with family and friends were a source of great joy, and she was always up for cards, dice games, and would never say no to a trip to the casino.
Her strong faith sustained her throughout her life. Ellie had a deep love for the Lord, faithfully praying her rosary every day and lifting others up in prayer.
Her warmth, humor, and loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters Donna Cook (Richard) of Delavin, WI, Deborah Chapman (Robert) of Trinity, Fl, and her son Philip Trimm (Suzanne) of Longmont, CO, eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on July 11, 2025,11:00 AM., with a reception to follow at her daughter Debbi's residence. All are cordially invited to attend.
