Eleanor Marie Willwerth, 94, was born on March 25, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph and Eulalia (nee Berwanger) Graf. She died Sunday, November 26, 2023.
Eleanor led a fulfilling life as a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She dedicated many years working as a secretary, demonstrating her commitment to excellence and professionalism, at Scott Foresman & Co. and later with Shelter, Inc.
Although known for her unwavering work ethic, Eleanor also found joy in her personal life. She was an avid reader of mysteries and history. Additionally, Eleanor found immense pleasure in cheering on her favorite Chicago sports teams including the Cubs, Bears, and Bulls. She also had a deep appreciation for the arts, particularly opera which she loved to attend.
Eleanor is survived by her children, Mark, Jeanne, and Beth Willwerth; her grandchildren, Josephine and Sophia Willwerth; and her brother William (Linda) Graf.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Willwerth; her daughter, Ann Willwerth; her grandson, Mitchell Willwerth; her brother Richard Graf; and her parents.
A public visitation will be held on November 30, 2023, at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church, starting at 9:30 am followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 am. Following the mass, Eleanor will be laid to rest at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine, Illinois.
