Elena Murillo Serrano was born to María Moreno and Augustin Murillo on September 12, 1950 in Hermita de Los Correa, Jerez, Zacatecas, Mexico. Elena was born the seventh child of 17 children.
Elena met Roman Noe Serrano, the love of her life, in 1969 and they married on May 24, 1973.
In their union they were blessed to have three children: Ladislao (Sally) Noe (Cauncenet) and Zeus Serrano. Each of her children brought joy into her life. Elena and Roman were an extraordinary couple, and a true testament to enduring love and unbreakable partnership. Deep down, they were a family deeply rooted in family values. They faced life's challenges and the inevitable ones, standing firm to one another in sickness and health. Their commitment to each other was a beacon of strength that illuminated their path at every stage of life.
Elena's heart was filled with love and pride for her grandchildren Krystal, Roman, Zeus, Cauncenette and Naghibe (who proceded her in death) were the apple of her eye. She just loved them so much and they loved her.
Elena's journey through life was one marked by the joys of companionship and family. In 2000, Elena was in a car accident that changed her life. Elena stayed active and enjoyed cooking, puzzles, gardening, knitting, music, traveling, family gatherings, and spending time with her grandchildren. Elena's family was her pride and joy. Elena never complained about anything, she always smiled, she was always in a good mood, always upbeat and always positive no matter what challenges she faced. Elena's smile, positive energy, and determination will be missed by everyone who knew her. The first person you saw when you entered the house was Elena sitting at the table working on her puzzles. His memory will be treasured forever.
Elena passed away on January 29, 2026, in Murrieta, California, at the age of 75. She leaves behind her husband, Roman, with whom she spent 53 years, her three sons, two daughters-in-law, four grandchildren, 12 siblings and a large number of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, great-nephews, cousins and friends to treasure her memories.
