Eli Eddy Obituary

Eli was born in Columbus, April 20, 1934, the loving son of Rex and Delphia Renn Eddy. On August 24, 1957, Eli married Barbara Kay Thomas, she survives.
Eli was a 1953 graduate of Columbus High School and was then drafted to the U.S. Army serving our country in Germany.
He had been a brick mason and then became a self-employed building contractor specializing in commercial buildings. Eli was a member of the Church of Christ and a former member of Henryville Beagle Club and the Columbus Gun Club. Eli enjoyed trap shooting, hunting and fishing. Since 1979, Eli and his wife wintered in Oldsmar, Florida.
Eli is survived by his wife of 67 years, Barbara Kay; his daughter, Cindy Eddy; and many nieces and nephews.
Eli was preceded in death by his parents, Rex and Delphia Eddy; a brother; and four sisters.
The celebration of life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street; Minister Gary Coles will officiate. Family and friends may gather for memorial visitation from 12:30 p.m. till time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions in memory of Eli may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or American Heart Association.

I was raised in Ogilville with Eli and Kay. My mom and dad were John and Helen Day. I lived there when all the roads were still gravel. At 8 years old, my dad would let me drive the grain truck to Carmichaels store for things. And I always stopped at Eli's house on the corner and talk to them. Especially when they got the beagle pups. I have great memories of Eli and Kay. They were always good to me. Donna Day Mount
