Eli Vogel Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Care Cremation & Funeral Service - Eastland Drive on Mar. 16, 2026.
Eli Thomas Vogel, 15, of Jessamine County, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 8, 2026. He was born on August 11, 2010, in Lexington, Kentucky, to Kyle and Natashia Vogel.

Eli was a student of Mars Hill Academy. He was known not only for excellence in academics, but also for his kindness to classmates and friends. Eli was a committed member of the drama team and a gifted musician. His band, GEM, wrote and performed their own Christian folk rock songs. In addition to his love of music, he enjoyed nature and hiking, basketball, and riding roller coasters with his family. Eli was a beloved son and wonderful brother.

Eli gave his life to Jesus at a young age. He attended Church of the Savior. He loved the Lord and carried, not only family and friends in prayer, but also many people he encountered in the day to day. His desire to find God in the midst of the cares of life can be seen in the songs he wrote.

Eli was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kelley and Wanda Keith (Pine Knot) and great-grandfather Jay Greene (Muncie, Ind.).

Eli is survived by his parents, Kyle and Natashia Vogel; siblings, Josephine, Lilly, and Jay Vogel (all of Nicholasville); great-grandmother, Jane Greene (Muncie, Ind.), grandparents: Tom and Susan Vogel (Nicholasville), Logan Dale and Betty Keith (Pine Knot), and Vickey Harrison (Somerset); uncles and aunts: Janet Hellman (Matt), Peter Vogel (Isabel), Phillip Vogel (Olivia), Laura Travascio-Green (Alijah), David Keith (Carol), Kathy Keith, Shannon Grissom (Chad), Brandy Jones, Jesse Richards (Tim). Eli is survived by many cousins who loved him very much.

A celebration of life service will be held in Eli's honor on Monday, March 23, 2026, at 6:30pm at Church of the Savior, 1301 Brannon Rd, Nicholasville, KY 40356. He will be laid to rest at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens in Lexington in a private ceremony at a later date.

As Eli's favorite band was Switchfoot, we ask you to consider making donations to the Switchfoot Bro-Am Foundation, which supports a number of different children's charities, in lieu of flowers.

Care Cremation and Funeral Service is honored to be entrusted with final care.
