Carl Douglas Blakeman, 67, loving husband of Patricia Mae Blakeman, left his earthly home peacefully on March 15, 2026 surrounded by his family. He was born on June 16, 1958, being one of five children of the late Carl Augustus and Anita Mae Colley Blakeman. Carl was born an raised in Lexington, KY along with his brother Barry Allen Blakeman and sisters Anita Mae Colley Eades and Sherry Ann Blakeman Cornwell, who have preceded him in death. He was a US Air Force veteran, serving for seven years. Carl loved to play Bingo, going the Red Mile Casino, fishing and vacationing in Titusville Florida. In addition to his wife he will be fondly remembered by his brother Bryan Cornwell and sister Rebecca Cornwell as well as numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members. In accordance with his wishes, cremation was chosen and a Graveside inurnment will be held on Friday at 1:30 PM in Camp Nelson National Cemetery with Military Honors. “Some people come into our lives and quietly go away leaving footprints on our hearts. Tears are the rent we pay for loving someone.” Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Carl and extend our deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
