Elias Elkouri Obituary
away January 11, 2024. Elias is survived by his beloved wife, Denise, of 63 years, his
children, Michelle (Robert) Hutchison, Jeannette (Mark) Juras, and Richard (Susan)
Elkouri. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Melissa, Cara, Molly, Nikolas,
Allison, Alexa and Austin, his brother Jim (Marta) Elkouri, along with nieces and
nephews.
Subsequent to his honorable discharge from the US Army, Elias started his career as a
Detroit firefighter, upon which he served in the 1967 Detroit Riots. Elias was an avid
contributor to the Shriners (burn) Hospital for children. Elias retired after serving his
community for 26 years as a lieutenant.
During retirement he enjoyed riding his Harley, driving his hot rods, traveling the US, all
while enjoying the "Sunshine" state.
