Elida Garcia Mata

Elida Garcia, passed away on March 6, 2024, in Plant City, Florida, at the age of 83. Born on June 22, 1940, in Matamoros, Mexico, to Camillo Mata and Guadalupe Ramirez, she was a sister to Eliazar Mata, Socorro Soto, Concha Isaguirre, and the late Isidro Mata and Rosita Mata.
Elida was married to Juan Garcia for 67 years. Together, they raised a beautiful family, instilling values of love and togetherness. She was the loving mother to Norma Ledesma, Irma (Ricardo) Lerma, Horacio Garcia, Carmen (Jose) Torres, Homero (Francisca) Garcia, Oralia (Juan) Montes, Roberto Garcia, Juan Garcia Jr. (Eunice), Rodolfo (Tili) Garcia, and Efrain Garcia. Her legacy will live on in her 27 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her great joy and pride.
Elida was the cornerstone of her family, ensuring that her home was filled with love, laughter and faith. She thoroughly enjoyed shopping and going out to eat. She loved family cookouts that gathered her loved ones together and allowed her to be outside in the sunshine. Elida's favorite color was purple and she loved butterflies. Her children fondly remember her as the perfect mother, always happy and ready to share a funny story or a word of encouragement. Elida looked forward to going out to grab coffee with her daughters and regular phone calls with her children. Elida was a funny, loving, spiritual woman who will be greatly missed and remain forever in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Friends and family will be received Monday, March 11, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Iglesia De Dios Torre Fuerte, 5335 US-92, Plant City, FL 33566. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. A graveside service will follow at Mt. Enon Cemetery where Elida will be laid to rest near her husband, Juan and her brother Isidro. Funeral services have been entrusted to Haught Funeral Home.
