Elijah J. Credit

Elijah J. Credit, 79, of Lovers Lane, died Friday, July 5, 2024, in William W. Backus Hospital. He was the loving husband of Carol (Mellor) Credit for 39 years. Born in Sterling, CT, at the Sunshine Maternity Home in Oneco, he was the son of John and Almira (Perry) Credit.
Elijah worked at Interroyal for 14 years. He was the owner and operator of the Hops & Scotch liquor store for ten years. He also worked at Kaman Aerospace and worked as a coin supervisor at Mohegan Sun for ten years. He was a part of the first graduating class at Ellis Tech for Carpentry. He enjoyed spending time with his family and many beloved pets. When he was not busy making furniture for his home, he could be found enjoying the freedom of his motorcycle. Elijah was also known for his photographs he took on his many motorcycle trips. His photographs won several photography contests.
In addition to his beloved wife, Elijah is survived by his children, Sue Coffey, Leo Credit, Michael Credit, Shawn Credit; step children Neil (Buddy) Credit, Kimberly Harshaw, Cindy Corrente, Lisa Connolly, and Dennis Corrente; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and son, Dale Credit.
