Mr. Elijah Phillip "Eli" Johnson, 19, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at his home in Martinez, GA.
Eli was born on November 8, 2005 and was the son of Phillip D. Johnson and Maria McGahee Johnson. He was a food service worker and was employed by Dunkin. Eli was studying to attain his certification as a firefighter before his death and also did volunteer work at the Augusta Dream Center. He was a loving, caring, kind hearted teenager that loved his family.
Survivors include his parents, Phillip and Maria McGahee Johnson; maternal grandparents, Phil and Carol McGahee; paternal grandparents, Ronnie and Annette Johnson; a special friend, Maya "Max" Lott; uncles and aunts, Ted and Denise Kirkland, Stacy and Lorista Johnson, Phillip McGahee II and Rochelle; many cousins and numerous other family members.
The celebration of life service for Eli will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Hephzibah Baptist Church in Lincoln County with Rev. Elliott Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m Monday, March 31, 2025 at Rees Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Preston Hood, Phillip McGahee II, Jantzen Biles, Ted Kirkland, Stacy Johnson and Brandon Thompson.
If so desired memorial contributions may be made to the Augusta Dream Center, 3364 Peach Orchard Rd., Augusta, GA. or to Hephzibah Baptist Church, 1750 Hephzibah Church Rd., Lincolnton, GA. 30817.
