Elijah Johnson, affectionately known as “TJ,” age 75, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at his residence on January 2, 2026.
Elijah lived in Bridgeport for over 50 years. He was born on December 6, 1950, in Florence, South Carolina, to his parents, Arlena Talbert and Calvin Johnson.
Elijah was one of 9 boys; he was a very loving and caring man with a laid-back spirit. He was never one to fuss or argue and was known for his calm demeanor and gentle nature. Above all, he loved his family deeply, and his presence brought comfort and peace to those around him.
Elijah is survived by his siblings Donnelly Johnson (Carolyn) and Swiftly Johnson (Miss Blake), his special lifelong friend for over 50 years Betty, his children the late William, Victor, Betty, Ray, Dollina, Prince and Latisha; a host of loving nieces, nephews, grandchildren and extended family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Funeral services have been entrusted to Community Funeral Chapels and will be held on January 16, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
