Elijah Juan Robert Scarbro, a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on August 25, 2025, just one day shy of his 28th birthday. Born on August 26, 1997, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was a beacon of warmth and generosity throughout his life, touching the hearts of all who knew him. Elijah grew up in the city of his birth, where he cultivated a rich tapestry of interests and hobbies that would define his character.

He graduated with a high school diploma and quickly made his mark as a dedicated and respected Supervisor at Huntington Bank Field. His work ethic and leadership were recognized by all his colleagues and friends, and he was known for his ability to inspire and uplift those around him. Beyond his professional life, Elijah was a man of diverse passions. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as tending to his garden, where he nurtured not just plants but the bonds with his family and friends. His love for Japanese culture led him to explore its various facets, from its cuisine to its rich history and traditions.

Elijah's culinary skills shone brightest during cookouts, where he could often be found behind the grill, masterfully preparing meals that would bring everyone together in celebration and fellowship. Video games provided a world of escapism and adventure for Elijah, allowing him to connect with fellow gamers and forge friendships that transcended the digital realm. His generosity was evident in every aspect of his life, from the way he shared his hobbies to his constant readiness to lend a helping hand. Described by those who knew him as wise beyond his years, Elijah's insight and friendly demeanor made him a confidant and guide to many.

His presence was a source of comfort and stability, and his advice was sought after by friends and family alike. Elijah is survived by his loving mother, Dolores Essenburg; his sister, Felicia Scarbro; and other brothers and sisters and his adored nieces and nephews, Amari Scarbro, Christian Scarbro, and Elizabeth Troupe and others. Each of them will carry forward his legacy of kindness, his sense of community, and his indomitable spirit.

Cleveland, the city that gave him life and in which he found his final rest, will remember Elijah as a man who lived fully, loved generously, and left an indelible mark on the hearts of those he encountered. His passing, resulting from an aortic aneurysm, reminds us all of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing every moment. As we bid farewell to Elijah Juan Robert Scarbro, we celebrate the life he led and the countless ways he enriched our lives. His memory will continue to be a guiding light, a reminder to live with kindness, wisdom, and an open heart. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
