July 21, 1939 – November 9, 2025
Elinor Marcia Friedel, age 86, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, November 9, 2025.
She was born in Detroit, Michigan, on July 21, 1939, to parents Alex and Lilyan Siegel.
Elinor was united in marriage to John (“J”) Friedel on September 24, 1981, who preceded her in death on September 24, 2016. They will now be reunited in eternity.
Elinor was a hard-working and devoted woman—whether working during her first marriage while her husband attended law school, being a stay-at-home mom and CEO of the house, learning the auto parts business as an owner-operator, manager, and parts counterperson, or later excelling in the printing business. With every chapter of her life, she gave it her all.
Throughout the years, Elinor dabbled in several hobbies, including art projects, painting, pottery, sculpting, gardening, and poetry. She loved keeping in touch with her sisters, to whom she was very close, and spending time with her beloved family.
She will be deeply missed and remembered as a devoted wife, and a loving and nurturing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
Elinor is survived by her children, Robin (Chuck) Schultz and Ken (Monique) Klein;
grandchildren Lyn (Nick), Casey, Sydni (Curt), Joshua, and Hannah (Chase);
great-grandchildren Matt (Ashley), Faith, Kanaan (Amy), Brach, Justus, Fletcher (Alayah) Kayden, Isabelle, and Walker;
and sisters Barbara (Leonard) Schwartz and Ardis (Gary) Shingles.
She is also survived by nephews Steve and Paul Schwartz, and David and Eric Shingles.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alex Siegel (2000); mother, Lilyan Siegel (1991); and grandson, Adam Klein (2025).
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at The Pheasant Inn,
7694 W. Main Street, Siren, Wisconsin, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Her kindness, creativity, and strength will live on in all who knew and loved her.
