Elizabeth Friedel Obituary

Elizabeth Nixon Friedel 81, formerly of Taneytown, passed away Oct. 25, 2025 surrounded by family. Nickie was born January 11, 1944 in Baltimore, MD. Nickie was the daughter of the late Elmer and Cordelia (Snyder) Goldhammer. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Thomas Goldhammer and sister Karen Jirka. She was married to Lawrence James Friedel for 53 years till his passing in 2015. Surviving Family are 5 sons Timothy of Dawson, WV, Steve and Paula of Taneytown, MD, Michael and Becky of Peyton, Col, Wayne and Jen of Punta Gorda, Fl and Matthew and Lisa of Colorado Springs, Col. 8 Grandchildren Amanda, Sarah, Wayne Jr, Sheree, Adam, Allen, Johnny, Maryellen. And several great grandchildren. Nickie was active in Cub Scouts and 4-H. She loved going camping, and boating with her family, traveling with AARP with her husband. For Family and Friends a celebration of Life will be November 22, 2025 at the Terra Rubra Lions Club Activities Building. 6300 Middleburg Road, Keymar, Md 21757.
