After Jim's death in 1991, Ellie found the second love of her life, Willis Downing. They married in 1997. Willis's children, Kelly Downing (Bo) and their children, Dakota and Dylan, and son, Cullen (Peggy), made her large family even larger.
Ellie worked at Mascoma Savings Bank for 21 years. She was also a very active member in her community which included Sacred Heart Parish, volunteering at the Enfield Lioness Club, at DHMC, and Hospice. She was also a substitute teacher for several years in Enfield and Lebanon. Her strong will and love to help others made her a wonderful volunteer and community member.
Ellie loved quilting, golfing and spending many years traveling with Will in their RV, enjoying their retirement together. Ellie's favorite part of retirement was taking care of her grandchildren and spending time with her family.
