Funeral services for Elisa Brito, 93, of Lovington, New Mexico will be held at 9:00 am on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Samuel officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Elisa was born on October 11, 1932 in Big Spring, Texas to Salome and Manuela Gutierrez and passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026 in Lovington, New Mexico. She married Moises Brito on December 2, 1953, and they shared 63 years together. She has lived in Lovington since 1957. Elisa was a beloved mother and devoted wife. She loved listening to music and spending time with her family. She was also an avid bingo player. She loved her family very much and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Moises Brito, daughter Elisa Brito, son Juan Manuel Brito, and several brothers and sisters. Surviving her are two sons, Benito Brito (Armida) of Lovington, New Mexico; Rodolfo Brito (Angie) of Council Bluffs, Iowa; five daughters Trini Contreras (Jose) of Amarillo, Texas; Lupe Johnson (Irvin) of Amarillo, Texas; Elodia Brito of Amarillo, Texas; Elidia Ortiz (Ralph) of Fort Worth, Texas; and Virginia Moon (Jamie) of Midland, Texas; 24 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and one great, great grandson. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 beginning at 1 pm until the recitation of the rosary at 6 pm at Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to kirbysmithrogers.com
