Elise Campbell

1933 - 2025

Mrs. Elise G. Campbell, 92, of Frederick, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Lewis E. "Pete" Campbell, who preceded her in death in 1994. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Daniel Lewis Burkett in 1986.

Born on May 8, 1933, in Kitzingen, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Albina Hofmann.

Elise lived a long, full life filled with resilience, quiet strength, and determination. She had a generous and kind spirit. She was a homemaker and a loving, devoted military wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, cross-stitch sewing, and working puzzles. She especially loved cooking, with a particular fondness for German cuisine.

Elise is survived by her children: Barbara Campbell, Scott Campbell (Val), Sandra Campbell, Brian Campbell, and Tracy Morris (Jeff); her grandson, Dustin Burkett; great-grandchildren, Taylor Nicole Burkett and Katelyn Elise Burkett; and her brother, Rolfe.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 515 S. Market Street, Frederick. Those wishing to attend will gather at the FSK Chapel (Old Entrance) prior to 11:00 a.m.
