Elishie “Dianne” White, age 72, passed away late Thursday, September 5, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, John “Danny” White. Dianne was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina. She and Danny moved to the Savannah area a few years after visiting on their honeymoon. She retired from the Georgia Ports Authority in the Finance Department where she worked as a Credit and Collections Manager for almost 40 years. Dianne enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, shopping, and tending to her plants.
Dianne had an unwavering love for her family and friends, finding her greatest joy in their company. Family gatherings, where she could watch her beloved grandbabies play, were some of her happiest moments. She cherished the annual mother-daughter shopping and travel trips, always looking forward to those special times. Dianne loved spending time outdoors and relished the special moments she spent swinging on the porch with her son. She also held her siblings close to her heart, often traveling to visit them and treasuring the time spent with her many nieces and nephews.
Dianne was blessed with many wonderful friends, and she cherished the time spent with them, especially during their special 'birthday dinners with the girls.' She shared a unique bond with her high school classmates and proudly attended most every reunion of the Charleston High Blue Devils, where she had graduated. Her friends describe her as positive, uplifting, and someone they could always rely upon.
Dianne was faithful in her beliefs and knew that God always had a plan and reason for everything. She will be missed dearly by family and friends, but there is comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her loved ones who went before her.
Dianne is survived by her daughter, Wendy (Brian) Crosby of Rincon; her son Byron (Jamie) White of Stilson; five grandchildren, Daniel Crosby, Caitlan DeSimas, Kelsie White, Claire White and Caleb Smith; four great-grandchildren; her sister Mary (Earl) Heath, her brother Butch (Carol) Ramsey, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Deal Funeral Directors.
A graveside service will be held Monday, September 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
