Eliza, Marshell as I called her was my stepmom many years ago back in the 1980's. We did have some good times. You taught me how to play the saxophone and we would go to your families place in Florence, South Carolina and have that good BBQ that your dad had a special ingredient for. I have thought about her many times over the years. I have been looking for her online for awhile and I just found her obituary. I cried for her. I was just a child and very stubborn. Im sorry Marshell, I was looking for you to let you know that I remember how kind and funny you were. You tried so hard to be my mom and I fought you every step. If her family or friends see this will you call me please 843-450-0257 I love you Marshell and Im sorry.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of my sweet student, Eliza. I taught her in French Class at Wilson High School many years ago. I have just learned that she and I lived near each other in Marietta, Ga. I would like to think that we may have crossed paths over the years. I am delighted to hear that she lived a full and happy life in her short years. I send my condolences to all her family and friends.

I met Eliza at Christa and Lloyd's wedding! I remember her as being the consummate professional in everything that she did, whether it was being a great daughter to her dad, a great sister, or a great Aunt to her nieces. Lloyd and I have known each other for over 25 years and I have spent many holidays and other events there in Florence and Irmo. One of the best memories that I have was Thanksgiving at their gramdma's house. Family and food were great. The Weltons are a very generous and sharing family. You have my deepest sympathies and all my Love. I will see you all soon.In the ironies of life, my mother's name was Eliza and I lost my sister 5 years ago about this time. My heart is heavy with yours and my prayers and thoughts are with you all.Respectfully submitted by Warren C Mercer.

What a shock. The moment I heard Eliza had passed sadness came upon me. Eliza was about the best female friend I had in high school. We cut up a lot.Hung around some at school and even apart from school. It bothered some people that she was hanging around a white guy and bothered some I was hanging around with a black girl but neither of us cared. We were friends. It seems like it was just a few weeks ago. I hope she had put her trust in Jesus and is in heaven. If so we will cut up again in heaven some day. I hate I lost touch some others and especially her after high school. Between the USMC, Army and type of work I do I have 48 states ad 16 countries behind me and been gone more years than I lived there. I will miss her more knowing I will never see her again in this life. Prayers for the family
