Obituary of Elizabeth Albon
Elizabeth Albon, 89, a longtime resident of LaPorte, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 5, 2023. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert C. and Rossanna McGinnis Enlow; and sister Susan Enlow. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Mary Ramirez (husband George), and Diane Murphy; grandchildren Justin (wife Sophia), Michael (wife Trisha), and Madeleine (husband Jacob); great-grandchildren Emmy, Ava, and soon to be a 3 great-grandchild; as well as a host of other loving family and friends.
Elizabeth's greatest joys in life were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, supporting, encouraging, and loving them. Elizabeth was also an animal lover who adopted dozens of pets throughout her life and supported numerous beloved animal causes.
Elizabeth had a kind and generous heart, and was a beloved member of the LaPorte, Texas and Evansville, Indiana communities. During her 58+ years in LaPorte, she built many strong friendships within her community. For many years, Elizabeth owned Cards, Etc., a card shop in LaPorte, and during that time she enjoyed getting to know other business owners and meeting the people who lived in the community. She especially loved when her grandchildren paid a visit to the store.
Elizabeth also had a deep and honored connection to southern Indiana, where she was born and raised. She was proud of continuing her parents' and grandparents' tradition of supporting many generous philanthropic causes in her hometown of Evansville, Indiana. Elizabeth especially loved cheering on her alma mater, the Purdue Boilermakers basketball team!
She was blessed to have so many loving and generous caregivers, and we are so grateful to the loving staff of St. James Houston of Baytown. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, and her memory will forever carry on in their hearts.
Services for Elizabeth will be Saturday February 11, 2023, at 1:00 pm, at Clayton Funeral Home Chapel, 201 S 3St. in LaPorte. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Pasadena.

I loved Mrs. Albon, she sewed my Raggedy Ann's head back on when I was a small child after her daughter Diane and I had gotten in a disagreement about who would put her to bed. She was a sweet and wonderful woman. She was also my mothers first friend when we moved to Shady River. Diane, if you ever read this I would love to hear from you. You were also my first friend in Shady River and we had many fun times together. Much love and many blessings to you and Mary.
