Suddenly, on Sunday, June 1, 2025, Sister Betty left us for eternal life. She entered the Sisters of Divine Providence from St. John the Baptist Parish in Monaca, PA. Betty was one of four children of John and Rose (Perse) Sundry. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Jack Sundry and Joyce McFarren. She is survived by her sister, Teresa Osman (Robert), nieces and nephews, the Sisters of Divine Providence and their Associates. Sister Betty earned a BS degree in Education at Duquesne University and an MA in Religious Education from LaSalle University in Philadelphia, PA. Her ministries included: Teacher at the elementary level in Pittsburgh, Ohio, and West Virginia, involvement in Social Justice concerns on many levels, community leadership and various administrative positions. Sister received many acknowledgements and awards for her efforts from her religious community, and local and national civic organizations. A Wake Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, June 5, at 3:00 p.m. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, June 6, at 3:00 p.m. All will take place in Visitation Chapel at The Commons, 9000 Babcock Boulevard, Allison Park, PA 15101. Chapel events will be livestreamed at: https://video.ibm.com/channel/Q4zW6rUvwPq. Inurnment will follow in the Sisters' Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to Sisters of Divine Providence, 9000 Babcock Boulevard, Allison Park, PA 15101. Arrangements are entrusted to ANTHONY G. STAAB FUNERAL HOME, INC., 900 Chartiers Ave., Pgh., PA 15220.
