Obituary of Elizabeth Williams Coldiron
Elizabeth Williams Coldiron, passed away August 4, 2023. A celebration of her life will be held at Magnolia Park Cemetery, Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Ed Chambless officiating.
Elizabeth was born to the late Beatrice Perdue Williams and Thomas Newton Williams on August 21, 1932. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Houson Cook Akins, Sr., grandson, Josh Akins, and several siblings. Elizabeth was a loyal and dedicated woman who took great pride in serving her community, family and the Lord. Elizabeth was born and raised in Kathleen, GA with her 12 siblings. She graduated from Bonaire High School. At a young age, Elizabeth worked at a drug store in Perry before transitioning into her career with Southern Bell. She then began her life long career at Robins Air Force Base as a computer programmer, until retiring after 30 years. After retirement, Elizabeth continued to serve her community by working for a private contractor for several years. When Elizabeth was not working, she could be found spending time with her beloved family and friends. Elizabeth also enjoyed attending Central Baptist Church and listening to joyful hymns and reading the Lord's scripture. Elizabeth was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister and dear friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Elizabeth is survived by her cherished son, H.C. Akins; grandchildren: Keri (Chris) Hodges and Larry Akins; 2 great grandsons; 1 great great granddaughter; 4 siblings; and a host of extended friends and family.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff at Church Home LifeSpring Rehabilitation & Healthcare for the exceptional care given to Ms. Elizabeth Coldiron while she was a resident.
