Elizabeth Colosimo
83, died June 21, 2024.
Elizabeth was born in Newark and formerly of Scotch Plains before moving to Bridgewater in 1966. She was a graduate of Scotch Plains Fanwood High School in 1959 and Overlook Hospital School of Nursing in 1960. Liz started her career as a nurse at Overlook Hospital where she met her future husband Fred. Shortly after she was married in 1963, she spent the next 20 years raising her children. After that she spent 15 years working in local department stores because she loved to interact with the pubic. She was a parishioner of St. Bernard RC Church in Bridgewater. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, her grandchildren, helping others and sitting on her front porch and talking to people who would walk by. She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
Surviving are sons John Colosimo (Kelly) and Stephen Colosimo (Pati), daughter Patricia Santacross (Rodney), sister – in law Catherine Schroeder (Richard), five grandchildren Christopher (Nadya), Daniel (Callie), Amanda (Matt), Rodney Jr., and Jacque, and three great-grandchildren Jace, Piper, and Matthew.
Prayers will be 9am Thursday at Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 N. Gaston Ave, Somerville followed by a 10am mass at St. Bernard RC Church in Bridgewater. Entombment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Bridgewater.
Visitation will be 2-4pm and 7-9pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
