Joseph R. Colosimo

Joseph R. Colosimo, 86, of Jeannette, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, in the Westmoreland Hospital. He was born Aug. 15, 1939, in Grapeville, a son of the late Peter J. Colosimo Sr. and Virginia Ferrante Colosimo. Joe was a member of Ascension Church in Jeannette. He was a 1958 graduate of Jeannette High School and attended Youngstown State University. He was a proud member of the 1956 WPIAL Champion Jeannette Jayhawks Football team and had served in the U.S. Army Reserve. Joe worked for the family businesses, Colosimo Construction and The Colosimo Italian Restaurant in New Stanton. He was an avid Steelers fan and enjoyed going to car shows and learning about vintage cars. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Peter 'Joey' Colosimo, on July 2, 2008, and his sister, Janice Smarto, on Aug. 10, 2025. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of fifty-nine years, Marie A. Galando Colosimo; daughter, Melissa A. Colosimo of Jeannette; grandson, Matthew Colosimo of Bethel Park; brother, Peter J. Colosimo Jr. (Margaret) of Hempfield Township; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends of Joseph will be received from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2025, in CLEMENT L.
