Jacquelyn Griffin Obituary

Published by Legacy on Feb. 18, 2026.
Jacquelyn C. Griffin, lovingly known to all as "Jackie" or "Nana," has gracefully departed this life on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, in Canal Winchester, Ohio. Born on December 7, 1956, in Youngstown, Ohio, Jackie was the youngest of five children born to Beulah (Hogan) Griffin and Aaron Griffin Sr.

A proud graduate of South High School, she went on to further her studies at Youngstown State University, with her fierce spirit and determination leaving a lasting impression on all who encountered her.

For many years, Jackie made her mark in the world of early childhood education, running her beloved "Jackie's 'Lil Angels" daycare. She embraced the role of caregiver with a heart of gold, nurturing countless little ones who still cherish the memories of her care. Before retirement, she also spent time as a transporter at Southside Hospital, where her warm smile and laughter brought joy to many.

Jackie was not just a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Michigan "Go Blue!" Wolverines; she was an embodiment of team spirit and passion, always lighting up the room with her colorful attire, fabulous hats, and vibrant jewelry. Never one to shy away from the spotlight, she was often the life of the party, known for her comedic flair and the genuine love she had for her family and friends. Her infectious personality made her the heart of many gatherings, and her absence will be felt deeply by all who knew her.

Jackie leaves behind a legacy of love through her two sons, Terrell and Tremaine Greer, and is survived by her cherished sisters, Marion R. Griffin and Estelle L. Payne. She also leaves behind six beloved grandchildren: Shaunese Moses, Kasiona Greer, Terrell Ellison, BreA'isha Greer, Poet Greer, and Tremaine Greer, along with six great-grandchildren who will carry her spirit forward.

Jackie held her nieces Tracey Richardson and Latoya Stephens-Allen, and her nephews Jason Payne and Aaron Andre Griffin very dear. She was also enriched by her honorary bonus daughters, Adrian Fordham and Tish Rivers, and a special niece, Sonya Smith-Goldstein, whom she adored.

Jackie has been reunited in eternity with her beloved parents, her sister Barbara Stephens, and her brother, Minister Aaron N. Griffin Jr.

Let us honor and remember Jackie for the vibrant, loving, and unforgettable spirit she was. In celebration of her remarkable life, a public viewing will take place on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Jaylex Event Center,2110 Glenwood Ave, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Martha E.
