Rudnae E. Washington, a beloved sister, aunt, and friend, departed this life peacefully on February 6, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on January 26, 1955, in Columbus, Ohio to Sam Pernell, Lois Washington. Rudnae was a lifelong resident of the community she cherished.

A proud graduate of South High School, class of 1973, Rudnae dedicated her professional life to public service, retiring from her role at the State of Ohio, where she was known for her unwavering dedication and support to her colleagues. Earlier in her career, she also served with distinction as an operator for Ohio Bell.
In this time of sorrow, the family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating Rudnae's life and the beautiful memories shared together. May her spirit continue to inspire and uplift those she touched in her lifetime.

Rudnae was deeply connected to her family, and her legacy continues through her surviving brothers, James D. Washington Sr. and Verne A. (Tatlin Yorke) Washington. She leaves behind cherished nieces and nephews, including Erica (Eric) Grandjean, James D. (Kristen) Washington Jr., Chandra Washington, Ashley Washington, and Falando Sharpe. She joins her beloved sister in law, Edna Washington, as well as her parents and a host of aunts and uncles, in eternal rest.

An avid reader with a thirst for knowledge, Rudnae found joy in the pages of many books and shared her love for literature with those around her. Her warm heart, gentle spirit, and infectious smile will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

The Washington family will hold a family viewing for Rudnae at the Chapel of Peace - North on February 18, 2026, at 4:00 PM. A visitation will take place prior to the funeral service on February 19, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Rudnae will be laid to rest on the same day, February 19, 2026, at 1:00 PM, at Evergreen Burial Park, 1401 Woodland Ave, Columbus, OH 43219.
