Elizabeth M. Faherty, a resident of Melrose, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, September 8, 2025, at age 68.
Elizabeth was born in Boston on November 16, 1956, one of two children of the late Eugenia (Hanlon) and Robert E. Faherty. Raised in South Boston, she attended St. Brigid School where she graduated from High School. She moved to Melrose in 1986, but always kept her South Boston Irish roots close to her heart.
Faith was an important and constant part of Elizabeth's life. She was a longtime devoted parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Wakefield, where she took joy in being a member of the Women's Guild and lending a hand at parish events.
Elizabeth had a spirited and active side, enjoying many years of skiing, golf, and tennis. She also treasured the close bond she shared with her mother, whether the two were out shopping, attending the theater, or enjoying a Boston Pops concert together.
Elizabeth will be remembered for her great laugh, her quiet strength, and her kind and genuine heart. She touched the lives of many in simple but lasting ways, and she will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Elizabeth was the beloved daughter of the late Robert E. Faherty and Eugenia (Hanlon) Faherty. Loving sister of Robert E. Faherty and his wife Cheryl of Tewksbury. Caring aunt of Lindsay Garrity and her husband Bryan of Marlborough, and Keri Vadala and her husband Anthony of N. Reading. Also survived by four grandnieces and grandnephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to gather at Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Monday, Sept. 15 from 8:30am-9:30am before leaving in procession to Incarnation Church, 429 Upham St., Melrose for her Funeral Mass celebrated at 10am. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
