Elizabeth Ferguson, age 90, died May 28 2024 in Dallas Texas. She was the daughter of Bennie McReynolds and Johnetta Snipes. Ann, as she was known, was born in Louisville, Kentucky where she graduated Central High School. She attended Hampton University and met Harold C. Ferguson, Jr. They were married for 70 years and proudly served their country as an Army military family with tour locations in Alaska (before it was a state), Massachusetts, Texas, Wisconsin, and Europe.
Ann received her bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Texas El Paso and taught grades 1, 2, and 3 in both the El Paso Public School System and at St. Raphael Catholic Church School. During her tenure at St Raphael she helped to prepare hundred of students for their First Communion ceremonies.
Her community service included serving as President of The Links, Inc. – El Paso chapter, member and Treasurer of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. She was a charter member of the Hampton University Alumni Association where she served as Secretary and Regional Representative of Southeast Texas. She served for many years on the Nominating Committee of the Texas Federal Credit Union. She was also a member of the Roncalli Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority.
Ann’s hobbies were crewel embroidery, macramé and reading.
To mourn her passing are her loving husband, Harold C. Ferguson, Jr., and their children: Donald (MaryAnn); Kevin; Robert (Christina); and daughter in law (Alexis); along with grandchildren Monica Ferguson; Lisa Duarte; Elizabeth Mullins (Patrick); Wesley Ferguson and Nina Ferguson. Along with seven great grandchildren.
