Elizabeth Fote Obituary

NAPLES, FLa. - Elizabeth D Fote, of Naples, beloved wife of William D Fote, passed away Wednesday (Oct. 2, 2024).

Born June 22, 1931, in Olean, N.Y., she was the baby of four daughters to Franz Knafelc and Elizabeth Salvatori.

Elizabeth was raised in Olean and graduated from Olean High School in 1950. She earned a degree in food service administration in 1952 from the State University of New York in Buffalo and became the cafeteria manager for the Portville Central School District in New York.

She married William in 1960 in Olean, started a family, and dedicated herself to raising their two children. Later, she worked as a teacher's aide in Woodbridge, Va.

Elizabeth and William retired to Naples in 1990. She was an active member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Naples, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and member of the Order of Lay Carmelites.

Elizabeth was admired for her elegant style, poise and delicious cooking. She enjoyed playing cards and mahjong with friends, always playing to win.

Elizabeth will be missed by her devoted husband of almost 65 years, William Fote; her daughter, Catherine (Bill) Myers of Naples; her son, William (Bok) Fote of Vienna, Va.; along with her beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom are grateful for Elizabeth's selfless prayers.

Her life is a testament to her dedication to her family, her faith, and her community.
