Elizabeth (Betty) C. Gaber, age 96, of Waterford, passed away Monday, January 26, 2026 in the Ambassador Unit at LECOM Nursing and Rehab. She was born in Erie on May 17, 1929, a daughter of the late Philip and Carrie Madura Bayhurst. Betty was a lifetime farmer and homemaker with 27 years dedicated to dairy production. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens and taking care of family pets.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard S. Gaber; four brothers, Joseph, Thomas, Edward, and Paul Bayhurst; and sister, Eleanor Bayhurst Heidecker.

She is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth and Caroline Gaber of Waterford and Barbara Gaber (William Rosenthal) of Albion; a son, Richard Gaber of Waterford; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Bayhurst. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends may call on Saturday at St. Boniface Catholic Church 9367 Wattsburg Rd. Erie, PA 16509 from 9:30 a.m until the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Mary Queen of Peace Cemetery. The Kloecker Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. is handling the arrangements. Send condolences to www.kloeckerfuneralhome.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church of choice.
