Elizabeth Grafton-Robertson, 67, of Ames, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.
Funeral services for Elizabeth Grafton-Robertson will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Ames City Auditorium, 520 6th Street in Ames.
Visitation for Liz will begin at 1:00 PM and continue until the time of the service. Friends are invited to a reception with food and fellowship at Food at First, 611 Clark Avenue, in Ames, from 4:00 - 6:00 PM.
Liz was born in Ottumwa, Iowa, on April 3, 1958. She was adopted by Donald and Jane (Swedberg) Harbour, and was raised in Packwood, Iowa, and later, in Dows, Iowa. She attended and graduated from Dows High School. She later attended Iowa State University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in early childhood development.
Liz was a staple in the Ames community, working primarily in food service. She worked at the Mandarin on Lincoln Way for more than 20 years, also at the Village Inn, and most recently, at GeAngelo's in north Ames. She made many lifelong friends over the years.
Liz was a tireless servant of God. She believed in helping others, was a dedicated member of BCC in Ames, Food at First, and would give her last dollar or the shirt off her back to those in need. She could regularly be found on Mondays at Cornerstone Church.
Liz loved her son, Matthew, and her grandchildren very much. She will be lovingly remembered for her beautiful smile, her positive attitude, and her color coordinated outfits, complete with colorful flowers in her hair!
Liz is survived by her son, Matthew Harbour, of Ames; grandchildren, Brittany Williams, Matthew "Bruce" Harbour Jr., Zeffrea "Free" Harbour, Giani Cashe Irie White, Evan Gregory Harbour; siblings Nancy Lee Harbour, of Florida, and Mark Harbour, of Nebraska; her beloved dog, Simba; along with countless friends and extended family members.
In lieu of flowers and other customary remembrances, Liz's family suggests memorial contributions can be directed to the Ames Romero House, Attn: David Thielen, 709 Clark Avenue, Ames, IA 50010.

I have known Liz for many years mainly when she was worked at the Mandrian. She always had a smile and really made you feel welcome. Rest in Peace!
